CLUB RULES

A competitive swimming club: Anaconda is a highly successful competitive swimming club. It is a requirement of the Club that all swimmers in the squads in the big pool at Cally Pool must be committed to representing the Club in galas. All swimmers in the big pool at IRB are encouraged to make themselves available to swim in galas if invited to do so.

Annual membership fees: Membership of Anaconda Swimming Club includes an annual fee payable to the Amateur Swimming Association and contributes to the Club’s insurance. All swimmers are obliged to pay the Annual Membership Fee. Fees are payable on 1 January. Swimmers whose fees remain unpaid by the end of February will be removed from the membership list and will not be permitted to participate in training sessions.

Subscriptions: Subscriptions are payable monthly and are due on the first Sunday/Monday/Tuesday of each month or the first applicable session. All swimmers are encouraged to pay their fees to the Club by Bank Standing Order (forms are available from the Administrator). Subscriptions can also be paid by cash/cheque, preferably quarterly in advance.

Absences must be paid for, including absence for illness or holiday. Any swimmer who plans to be absent for a prolonged period (4 weeks or more) should inform the Administrator in advance in order to retain the swimmer’s place in the Club. Any request for non-payment of subscriptions must be put in writing in advance. Normal summer holidays will not be considered. Teaching sessions at Highbury Grove are provided on a 10-week basis, payable in advance.

Refunds: The session rates have been calculated to even out the monthly payments and take into account pool closures. Refunds will only be made if the Club is unable to provide the stated minimum weekly sessions (48 or 44 as shown on the membership form) during the full calendar year. Any transfer to a different session will take place with effect from the first session of the month.

Late payments:  Any swimmer whose fees remain unpaid for 2 months will be removed from the membership list to allow another swimmer to take the vacant place. Any swimmer removed from the membership list will not be permitted to re-apply until all arrears are paid and may only be re-instated at the discretion of the management committee.

Resignation: Anyone wishing to leave the Club can do so at any time without penalty by notifying the Administrator one month in advance.  Failure to notify will incur a maximum of two months additional fees as the Club will hold the swimmer’s place for up to two months. The Club cannot afford to kkep vacant places that are not paid for. It is therefore helpful to everyone to give of intention to leave the Club.

Galas: The Club’s notice board gives details of galas. Parents/guardians should check whether their child has been invited to swim and indicate their availability on the notice sheet. Late cancellations let down the team and the other swimmers. Parents/guardians should ascertain whether a bus is provided for the team and in particular check the return time of the bus in order to collect the swimmers from Cally Pool on their return.

Club kit: Anaconda swimmers are asked to wear Club hats (if they normally wear a hat) and T-shirts when representing Anaconda at a gala.

Code of Conduct: All swimmers/parents/guardians must uphold the Club’s Code of Conduct:

As a member of Anaconda Swimming Club, I agree to

Swim, train, compete and support the Club to the best of my abilities

Have consideration and respect for others and for the property of others
