Anaconda Swimming Club aim to provide instruction in the arts of swimming for competitive and championship meetings. To achieve this objective:

Swimmers are taught the correct techniques to maximise their potential

The Club provides opportunities for swimmers to take part in competitive swimming through participation in League and Cup Galas throughout the year.

Anaconda promotes the teaching of swimming in the London Borough of Islington and surrounding London Boroughs without distinction of ability, sex, race or political, religious or other opinions.

We aim to develop the social education of the young people who attend the club through club outings, swimming camps, discos and other events as may from time to time be determined.

Code of Conduct

Members of Anaconda Swimming Club, agree to:

1.                  Swim, train, compete and support the club to the best of my abilities.

2.                  Have consideration and respect for others and the property of others.

3.                  Speak politely without swearing.

4.                  Be trustworthy and truthful.

5.                  Value the abilities and achievements of others.

6.                  Respect the training facilities including our swimming pools and changing rooms and those at galas.

Good Training Practices

  1. Make sure that you have all the correct equipment before you leave home.
  2. Make sure all your equipment is clearly marked with your name.
  3. Always bring a drink to training.
  4. Be punctual.  Your coach expects you to be in the water ready to go at the start time for your session.
  5. Use correct starts and turns during training sessions.
  6. Start and finish each length at the wall, not halfway down the pool.
  7. Do not stand up during a length as this creates chaos for other swimmers in your lane – keep swimming.
  8. When you have finished a set, move out of the way so the rest of your group can also finish.
  9. If you need to leave a session early, this should be agreed with you coach prior to the start of the session.
  10. Coaches expect everyone to listen to instructions.
Any problems can be discussed with the coaches at a suitable time agreed upon by both parties.  Please do not approach coaches during training sessions.
